On a plot of land rich with wildlife and natural beauty, this large Usonian style family home and guest house is integrated into a hill that overlooks the Thornapple River. Large windows let in the rustic view from every room.

||
| The expression of the roof framing with projected overhangs are some of
the elements of Usonian design displayed throughout the structures. |

Concrete paths connect the carport and the guest house to the family house which has a unified kitchen/dining area, overlooking a cozy living space with clerestory windows and a massive stone fire place.

These structures have their own connection to nature,
including the use of many woods including Douglas Fir, Cedar,
Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Ash, and Basswood.

The horizontal linear aesthetic corresponds to the movement of the Thornapple river.
