Based on the design of an open organic spiral, the Michigan Roundhouse is a dynamic experience from both the interior and exterior. The living space is centered by the fireplace on one side, and a skylight above. The location of the fireplace in the middle of the sprial allows heat to exude throughout the house.

The floors are stained and etched concrete, utilizing radiant heat to make the usually cold concrete warm and inviting. The mahogany and redwood interior is delicately built to emphasize the contours of the exterior.

The rooms are all seperated by partial walls, and interior windows, giving the entire house an open, connected feeling. Stepping from room to room, one space blends into another.

Wooden beams trace structural lines on the ceiling, creating an aesthetic contrast of lines and curves. Indirect lighting from the skylights makes shadows of changing patterns throughout the day.
