Lost Lake Woods
|
Within the rolling country of Lost Lake Woods is a house
integrated into a southwest sloping ravine.
The house is balanced by a
cantilevered entrance canopy, which reflects the surrounding forest,
and a cantilevered deck built over the ravine.
|
Anchored by ledgerock,
the house is pierced by the stone chimney.
Planters unify the
foundations of the attached garage and separate studio.
|
Positioned on the site to let in the maximum amount of daylight, the
clerestory windows give the feeling of being up high in the tree's
canopy.
|
The partial walls and
open spaces of the interior rooms are complimented by wood
floors, counterspace, and reflective glass walls, framed in cedar
timbers.
