Bissell Beach House

To get here, you must take steps that lead down to the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan, where the house is integrated into a dune.
The initial views of the lake are vast at the height of the dune, but become more intimate once inside.

The house is protected from the road by a low fence with a Japanese style gate which opens to the stairs leading down to the deck.

These benches overlook the beautiful sunsets that Lake Michigan has to offer.
The surrounding nature was formed by glaciers and the deck fits perfectly among the dunes
.

When dusk arrives, you can hear the waves gently crashing in at high tide.

The interior features framed light fixtures and a stained glass chandelier which compliment the light from the sun reflecting off the lake through the clerestory windows.

The transitions between rooms are carefully framed and the fireplace is elevated from the floor spreading warmth during the cold Michigan winters.
